YMCA of Makati History
1971
The YMCA of Makati (Rizal) Inc., was incorporated on October 19, 1971. The charter officers were led by Jose N. Morales Sr., Atanacio S. Bayan, Teofilo San Agustin and 8 others in an 11-man Board.
1973
Through the efforts of Justice Calixto Zaldivar, the Ayala Corporation provided over 6,000 sqm of land space to the association for its original office site in October 1973.
1981
The Physical Fitness Center was set up consisting of a semi-Olympic size Swimming pool, twin tennis courts, a gym for fitness and wellness exercises, and a basketball court.
1986
In 1986, the 44 room, fully air conditioned Makati YMCA hotel was inaugurated.
1987
In April 1987, the Makati YMCA named the Center, the JN Morales Sr. Complex, in honor of its Founding Chairman.
2007
In 2007, the Ayala Corporation modified the leased arrangement to the Association in a smaller site with start-up funds to construct a new building for its office and hotel facilities. Donors provided additional funds to complete construction.
2008
The new building was inaugurated in September 2008.
